Application Essays

The Honors College offers students the opportunity to enhance their undergraduate education through engaging and enriched courses, as well as provides access to funding for study abroad, undergraduate research, and community engagement projects. We are looking for students who wish to make the most of their college experience and take advantage of all that the Honors College has to offer. Please respond to the following prompts (up to 750 words each).

1) The Honors College invests numerous resources in helping our students be successful. If given the opportunity, how will you take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Honors College at NKU?

2) The Honors College seeks to encourage students to develop a sense of personal and social responsibility. If given the opportunity, how will you contribute to the broader Honors College, NKU, and/or Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati communities either during your time at NKU or after you graduate?

3) The global pandemic certainly has caused disruptions to many people's daily lives. In facing these trying circumstances, what have you learned about yourself? How have these experiences prepared you for the future and what approaches or outlooks will you bring to college as a result of your experiences living through these challenging times?
